Job Description

The Sr. Accounts Payable Administrator oversees the daily operations of the accounts payable function, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of invoices, expense reports, and payments. This role is responsible for maintaining compliance with internal controls, managing vendor relationships, supervising AP staff, and supporting month-end close activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the AP team in processing invoices, payment runs, and expense reports.
  • Ensure timely and accurate entry of vendor invoices and adherence to payment terms.
  • Maintain vendor records and resolve discrepancies or issues with vendors and internal departments.
  • Review and approve payment batches and reconcile AP sub-ledger to the general ledger.
  • Monitor AP aging reports and ensure timely follow-up on outstanding items.
  • Assist with month-end closing processes and provide support for audits.
  • Maintain relationships with key contractors and support month-end project accruals.
  • Develop and enforce AP policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement within AP operations.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred OR 3-5 years of experience in accounts payable or a related field, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Experience with AP automation tools or workflow systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of 1099 processing and sales/use tax regulations preferred.
  • Exposure to global or multi-entity AP environments is a plus.
